Josephine Margueritte Haney affectionately known as "JO" was born on 5 September 1923 and passed into the presence of her Lord on 29 March 2015. She was 91 years of age. JO was a beloved wife, a loving mother and homemaker. After retirement she volunteered in many ways, teaching English as a second language, serving as a volunteer in a special care facility in Dalhart, mentoring people in homemaking, and recently with one of her daughters in the Abilene Baptist Social ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Evan Festus Holmes, on15 April 1997; and by her sister, Burbounette Snyder in June 1997.
